Skip to main contentA four-cylinder diesel engine driving a self-priming pump end, mounted on a towable chassis. Built for sites with no mains power, and for water that has to be moved now rather than when the utility company answers.
Filmed in our workshop: the four-cylinder diesel engine and the self-priming pump end are coupled on one trailer frame, with road wheels, a towing eye and the control panel fitted before the set leaves the bay.
This is the build sheet, not a catalogue range. A 200 m³/h self-priming pump end driven at 1500 r/min by an SDEC SC4H160P2 — the pump-drive version of Shangchai's H-series four-cylinder, rated 105 kW continuous and 116 kW maximum.
The SC4H160P2 sits in the middle of Shangchai's dedicated pump-drive family. Every model in this table is a pump engine — not a generator engine repurposed — with the governor, flywheel housing and torque curve set up for direct coupling to a pump.
| Model | Part No. | Rated kW | Max kW | Cylinders | Flywheel Housing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SC4H95P2 | H3102 | 62 | 68 | 4 | SAE 3# / 11.5# |
| SC4H115P2 | H3103 | 78 | 86 | 4 | SAE 3# / 11.5# |
| SC4H160P2 | H3104 | 105 | 116 | 4 | SAE 3# / 11.5# |
| SC4H180P2 | H3105 | 120 | 132 | 4 | SAE 3# / 11.5# |
| SC7H230P2 | H3106 | 154 | 170 | 6 | SAE 3# / 11.5# |
| SC7H250P2 | H3107 | 168 | 185 | 6 | SAE 3# / 11.5# |
All models 1500 r/min, electronic governing, radiator and fan cooling. Above 168 kW the range continues in six-cylinder D, E, G and W series up to 782 kW.
How the engine is picked: the model is matched to the pump shaft demand at your duty point, then stepped up for the margin that actually gets used in the field — a strainer half blocked with silt, a suction line longer than the test stand, sustained running through a shift. A set trimmed to the bare shaft figure has nothing left when the site changes. Send us flow, head and suction lift and we will confirm the model from this table.
Four parts, one frame. Everything that touches water or exhaust is accessible from the side, which is what matters when the set is sitting in a sump at two in the morning.
Direct-coupled to the pump end through a bell housing. No separate base, no alignment job on site — the coupling is set and checked before the set leaves the workshop.
Suction lift up to 7 m, so the set can stand on dry ground beside the water instead of being lowered into it. 200 m³/h class flow on the set shown.
Single-axle trailer frame with a towing eye and road wheels, so one set can serve several pits, sites or fields instead of being bolted down at one location.
Flow and head are selected against the job, not picked off a shelf. Send the duty point and we will size the engine and pump end together and quote as one set.
Anywhere the water needs to move and the grid cannot be relied on. The trailer is the point — the same set covers several locations in a week.
Foundation pits, basement excavations and cofferdams, where the pump has to run before the site power is connected.
Emergency drainage after heavy rain, when a towable set can be moved between flooded locations faster than a fixed installation can be built.
Dewatering sumps and settling ponds on sites where the only power is what the plant brings with it.
Moving water between ponds, tanks and fields on land without a permanent power supply.
Tell us the flow you need, the suction lift and the discharge head, and whether the set has to be towed between locations. We will size the engine and pump end against it and come back with one quoted set — not a component list.
